Hoping that you enjoyed the analysis of the GeForce 185.20 and still crave for more driver deathmatch, we’re now back with a vengeance and a trio of unsuspecting victims ready to rumble for our pleasure and the right to serve our GeForce graphics cards. Today's 'victims' are the GeForce 185.20, the very unofficial beta that had its 5 minutes of fame due to the addition of ambient occlusion, and two WHQL certified releases, the GeForce 181.20, and GeForce 181.22. Coming together and shortly after the debut of the GeForce GTX 285 and 295, the GeForce 181.20 and 181.22 respectively have support for the two new cards, as well as everything down to the GeForce 6 line-up, with the latter driver also including the version 9.09.0010 PhysX software.
To determine the FPS-pumping capabilities of the three drivers we'll have them go through a series of tests consisting of DirectX 9 and 10 synthetic benchmarks and games, including the DICE-developed and PhysX-loving first-person action game Mirror's Edge which comes to take the place of the officially dumped 3DMark06. No point in shedding a tear for what we loved and lost though as there are drivers to torture, or test. Fire it up!
