Death from above

More than 60 years have passed since the last shot was fired but World War II has remained fresh in everyone’s mind and one reason for this is that it continues to be one of the most popular settings for PC and console games. The horrific events that shocked and scared the world from 1939 to 1945 have inspired numerous game developers and publishers throughout the years and that inspiration has led to the creation of some of the most memorable games ever. One virtual WWII experience that can be considered a gaming hit is the Medal of Honor series which debuted in 1999. Now, in 2007, the entertainment mammoth that is Electronic Arts has decided on the return of the MOH franchise, one that promises to show a new face of the war in Europe. The newest episode in the series is called Medal of Honor Airborne and, as the name suggests, it centered on another piece of the US Army puzzle, the jumping Jacks of the Airborne divisions.

With Airborne, EA wants to cut out some of the WWII shooter clichés players are already tired with and give them a different perspective, one in which death descends from the crimson skies. Find out if EA has succeeded in making MOHA a true breath of fresh air or if it simply ended up mashing up just another WWII shooter. Jump in!
