Wind of change
It might seem like a paradox but change is one of the few constants of today’s world and it can be attributed to lots of factors. Change can come with the simple passing of time, it can be the result of a massive event, but most of the times it is triggered and encouraged by need. More or less subtle, needs can be simple unheard voices in someone’s head or violent slaps on the back of the head. Fortunately or not the latter seems to be the manifestation of need in the case of well-known manufacturer OCZ. The company has already established itself as a premium provider of memory modules and power supplies but its flash storage offer, although substantial through variety, does not have a wow factor worthy of the OCZ brand.
The need to undoubtedly impress with its flash drives as it does with its other products has quickly pushed OCZ into seeking inspiration, and it apparently came from one of its biggest competitors, Corsair. Resembling the Voyager series, the ATV flash drive family which includes the ‘regular’ and Turbo models is the result of OCZ’s need for better, tougher, more eye-catching products. To determine the success of OCZ’s endeavor Techconnect’s EE lab has opened its massive steel doors and welcomed inside an 8GB ATV drive. Fortunately for us the doors quickly closed behind it so the torture can begin sooner than expected. Page 2, just one click away.
