You gotta study the skill
PC Power & Cooling - quite a long name for a company that although at a respectable age (now 23), only finally got the media’s attention it deserved after being bought by the much younger but very bold and determined OCZ Technology Group (founded in 2000). Despite this small but not uncommon paradox, the subtitle for this review hasn’t been chosen just because it sounds good but also because PC Power & Cooling literally has ‘skill’ when it comes to their main trade, the building of high-quality power supplies.
Luckily for everyone except maybe other PSU builders, OCZ’s acquisition took PC Power & Cooling, gave it a fine-tailored Armani suit, an iPod and unleashed it into the global PSU market where it can really prove its worth and shine commercially. One of the products released in the first wave following the buy-out is today waiting testing in Techconnect’s EE Labs and it is part of the Silencer PSU series. The Silencer 610 EPS12V comes from PC Power & Cooling’s high-performance portfolio and is, almost ironically, also one of the lowest-powered units to have been equipped with the company’s proprietary technologies and also feature SLI certification. To find out what the Silencer can do and if it is able to leave a mark in today’s highly competitive power supply market simply sit back, relax and read our review. Next stop is page two.
