Yesterday, Lenovo has revealed the fact that on the last day of Q1 (and the company's 2008 fiscal year), March 31st, it sold its handset unit. With sales of handsets accounting to a small percentage of Lenovo's revenue (and even that declining) and a distribution that included only the Chinese market, the company's execs have given the green light for the sale in mid-March and a group of investors got it after just two weeks.

With the handset division gone Lenovo can focus its energy and resources on its main trade, the building of PCs and servers.
