Just like with Windows XP, Microsoft has shown a little mercy to Outlook Express as it has decided on extending its access to Windows Live Hotmail beyond June 30th. Earlier this year Microsoft announced its intention to drop support for the Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol and because of this Outlook Express users would not be able to check their Hotmail accounts as of July 1st. Still, after listening to customer feedback, the Redmond company has extended DAV support so people will have more time to move to a new email client, one that supports Deltasynch, like Windows Live Mail.

There's currently no new "deadline" for ending DAV support but its likely that, at least this summer, Outlook Express will still be good for use with your Hotmail account.
