Following a period in which is was OLPC XO exclusive, the Sugar platform, now parented by the non-profit Sugar Labs is getting really close to being embraced by another netbook focused on educational activities, the Classmate PC. While Sugar Labs is still collaborating with OLPC, recently it has declared its intention to provide Sugar to other manufacturers and it's doing just that.

Intel is now working together with Sugar Labs on Sugar software that can be used with the Classmate PC and although the latter company is quite excited about this partnership nobody has committed to anything just yet. As a result, it's uncertain if and when Intel will release a Sugar-coated Classmate PC.
