
The partnership between Microsoft and the One Laptop Per Child organization is almost ready to bear fruits with the former doing most of its part by having the Windows XP version designed for the XO laptop reach RTM (release to manufacturing) status. This milestone enables the two partners to start shipping the first XO laptops with Windows pre-installed as soon as September.
Although gearing up to embrace Windows, OLPC will continue to offer XO machines loaded with the Fedora-based Linux distribution.
