Bass pumpin' producer Pioneer is getting ready to release new 5.25" Blu-Ray drives for PC users in need of high-definition and high storage capacity. The upcoming BDC-S02J and BDC-S02J-BK are both SATA drives that will read and write DVDs and CDs and offer Blu-Ray disc playback (or just reading).

The top speeds of the new drives will hover around 12x for DVD-R/+R, 6x for DVD-RW/+RW, 4x for DVD-R/+R DL, 24x for CD-R while Blu-Ray speeds will top 2x for movie playback and 5x for data transfer.

The two new drives are expected to hit the stores later this quarter at a price of $300.
