Following its little sister, the Maximus Formula, the highest end motherboard in Asus' X38-powered Republic of Gamers series, dubbed Maximus Extreme has finally been caught on camera. The Maximus Extreme is set to offer enthusiasts a X38 solution to remember as it features a built-in waterblock on the hot northbridge flanked by an inricate copper cooling system. The board itself features three PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots, four DDR3 memory slots, six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, one PATA connector, two Gigabit Ethernet ports and six USB 2.0 connectors on the back plate. The motherboard is set to arrive in October together with the Maximus Formula and will most likely be the most expensive X38 motherboard around.

I just purchased the Striker Extreme, I'm starting to think I was a little to hasty, this looks really nice, even with no SLi.
