Asus will be getting some competition soon as its water-cool-lovin' Republic of Gamers motherboard will have to soon face MSI's HydroGenX38. The upcoming motherboard features Intel's hot and heavy X38 chipset and it comes with a cooling system made by Watercool.de that will cool more than just the northbridge. The HydroGenX38 will actually come in two versions, a DDR3-only one that will be released first, followed by a 'Combo' version that will come with support for both DDR3 and DDR2 memory.
The rest of the specs look the same for both boards, two PCIe 2.0 x16 slots, 7 SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, two Ethernet ports, two eSATA ports, one IDE connector and 8 USB 2.0 ports. The DDR3-only HydroGenX38 is expected to cost around 379 euros.
