To flash up the upcoming holiday season Ridata has announced that it has two 2.5-inch solid state drives (SSDs) in the works. The new drives, boasting 32 and 64GB of storage will have a SATA interface and will offer notebooks read speeds of up to 60 MB/s and write speeds of 45 MB/s.
The drives are claimed to have a MTBF Mean time between failures) of 4 million hours and, as all current flash drives, they will 'flash' everyone with their large prices. The 32GB drive is set to be released later this month and cost $400 while the 64GB model will come in November and will cost about $1000.
