For the higher-clocked Phenom 9700s and 9900 we'll have to wait until the second quarter of this coming year but those looking for a cheap quad-core K10 CPU the wait isn't as 'long' AMD's newest plans point out to a new release in the Phenom line-up, one 9100e model that will be the cheapest quad-core around while also boasting the lowest frequency - 1.8 GHz whereas the next in line, the Phenom 9500 is clocked at 2.2 Ghz.

The Phenom 9100e will be released in (late) Q1 2008 and will be a B2 stepping part but an updated B3 version, nicknamed 9150e will be available in the following quarter. Both CPUs will have the 2MB L2 cache and 2MB of shared L3 cache and will have a TDP of 64W. Pricing is not yet available.
