Some eight months have passed since we
first found out about the new mobile platform from AMD, codename Puma. In the second quarter of this year Puma will make its debut and go against Intel's Santa Rosa and Montevina, but it will have some ammo with it - the RS780M chipset, Mobility Radeon HD 3000 series cards and Griffin CPUs. The Griffins are the evolution of the old K8 Turion processors and feature lower power requirements, HyperTransport 3.0 and more.
To tell Griffin apart all you need to know it's the new marketing name AMD brainstormed for them and that is Turion (64) Ultra. This is the official name of the line-up of processors which will accompany Puma and will be found in upcoming laptops that embrace the platform.
