Cooling solution provider Xigmatek has now introduced a new product for those hard to cool northbridge chips. Nicknamed Porter N881, the heatsink uses H.D.T. (heatpipe direct touch) technology that is supposed to offer enhanced heat dissipation courtesy of the 8mm heat-pipe which goes from the base of the heatsink to an array of aluminum fins.

Weighting in 150 grams and measuring 127.8(W) x 80(H) x 48.9(D) mm, the Porter N881 apparently can also be equipped with an 80mm fan for even higher cooling performance. The RoHS compliant Porter N881 can be used with chipset like the SiS 656 661FX/964, Radeon Express 200, Intel 975X, 955X, 945G, 945P, 945PL, 925X, 925XE, 915G, 915P, 865PE, 848P, Nvidia nForce4 SLI Intel Edition, VIA P4M800, PT880 Ultra and more. No word on compatibility with newer NBs though.
