AMD has kicked off the week with a fresh wave of releases which includes five 'new' Opteron processors. The new additions are all energy-efficient parts with 55W ACP (likely 65W TDP) ratings and are available for two-, four- or eight-way servers.

The CPUs introduced are the 1.7GHz Opteron 2344 HE, the 1.8GHz 2346 HE and 8346 HE plus the 1.9GHz 2347 HE and 8347 HE. In terms of prices, the HE parts go from $209 (2344 HE) through $255 (2346 HE), $377 (2347 HE) and $698 (8346 HE) and top at $873 (8347 HE).
