Although it is already offering a video service through its joint venture with Universal, Hulu, NBC is still having faith in NBC Direct, its ad-supported video download service. NBC Direct's beta stage was nowhere near a success but the network is continuing to pump resources into it as it prepares a second beta stage which will implement, among others, Pando's P2P technology.

Loaded with DRM from Microsoft, NBC Direct-downloaded shows can be viewed for up to 48 hours before their license expires. The second beta stage of NBC Direct is expected to kick off in the next couple of months.
