
While initially it put the blame on Microsoft, Symantec has eventually confessed that the problems registry corruption issues that have been reported by some users of Windows XP SP3 and Vista SP1 can, in part, be blamed on its SymProtect software that is included in Norton 2008 products. To redeem itself, the security company has released a fix that will resolve the problems with 'fake' registry entries.
