The
$549 Eee PC 1000H is getting a new baby brother, one that aims to prove that the Celeron M CPU included in the 700 models and the Eee PC 900 is not going away with the arrival of the Intel Atom. Dubbed Eee PC 1000HD (certainly not suggesting high-definition), the new model has a 10-inch screen with a 1024x600 resolution, a 900 MHz-clocked Celeron M processor, 1 or 2GB of DDR2 memory (for the Linux and Windows XP versions respectively), an 80GB hard drive and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.
Also loaded with a 1.3 MP camera, the 1000HD will be available in black and white and be equipped with a 6-cell battery. Does anybody else feel like Asus' Eee PC offer is getting a little too crowded?
