Previously-known as the E Series, Dell's first netbook try will be sold under the Inspiron brand and will be named simply Inspiron 910. Featuring 8.9-inch LCDs with a 1024x600 resolution, the upcoming Inspiron 910s are based on an Intel platform and powered by a 1.6 GHz Atom CPU, will be available with either 512 or 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 4, 8 or 16GB solid state drives and 4-cell batteries.
Weighting in just under 1kg, the new netbooks also feature 0.3 or 1.3 megapixel webcams, Ethernet, 3-in-one card readers, and will be available with either Ubuntu 8.04 or Windows XP pre-installed. If the latest rumors are true, then Dell should introduce the Inspiron 910 line-up as soon as Friday, August 22nd. Price wise, the portable PCs should be quite competitive towards the Eee PC 900/901 and the Aspire One but no numbers are out yet.
