Fujitsu has now announced two new series of 2.5-inch enterprise hard drives that feature the fresh and speedy SAS 2 (Serial Attached SCSI) interface. Peaking at 6.0 Gbps transfer speed, the MBD2 RC and MBE2 RC series 2.5-inch hard drives work at 10,000 and 15,000 RPM (rotations per minute), have 16MB of buffer memory, are halogen-free and RoHS compliant.

Coming in 147GB and 300GB capacities, the MBD2 RC are set to debut in Q1 2009 while the 73.5GB and 147GB MBE2 RC drives will arrive in Q2.
