Memory module maker Mushkin is readying the release of a golden memory kit, part of its XP series. Lacking heatsinks, the two 2GB DDR2 modules that make up the upcoming pair make use of 8-layer PCBs and will run at 800 MHz with 4-4-4-12 latencies powered at 2 to 2.1V.

Codenamed 996580X2, the new kit is expected to hit retail chains next month and have an attractive price tag.
