Optical drive specialist Lite-On has just announced a trio of DVD burners that will write DVD discs at a record-breaking speed of 24x. Dubbed iHAS324, iHAP424 and iHAS624, the upcoming drives feature SmartErase technology, which enables users to securely erase private and sensitive data found on discs.

Two of the three writers, the iHAP424 and iHAS624 also have LightScribe disc labeling capabilities while the latter also boasts LabelTag, a patented feature that allows users to create a label ring on the data side of any standard recordable media.

According to Lite-On, the SATA interface-equipped iHAS324 will go on sale in mid-March, while the PATA-ed iHAP424 will arrive at the end of the same month. Last but not least, the iHAS624, which also has a SATA connection interface, will hit stores in mid-May.
