Breaking the shackles of the PS/2 guidelines, Antec has now introduced the CP-850 power supply which features a new form factor that's supposed to improve airflow and allow for a quieter operation and the inclusion of better components. Seen below, the PSU offers 850W of continuous power, is SLI certified and features Active Power Factor Correction (PFC), Advanced Hybrid Cable Management (meaning it's cvasi-modular), four 12V rails, plus ATX12V v2.3 and EPS v2.91 compliance.

"With hardware components becoming more and more demanding, the need for high-wattage power supplies has increased enormously. This has also led to higher energy consumption and higher prices for the consumer," said Scott Richards, senior vice president at Antec. "By breaking out of the mold of standard-size units, we were able to create a power supply that is considerably more affordable than other units in the same performance class."

Backed by a five-year warranty, the CP-850 will cost you about $150.
