After a very dry period, AMD is set to pimp out its graphics card line-up in Q2 with some cards powered by the super-rumored RV740 and RV790 GPUs. The 40nm RV740 has already been put to
the test but since it's a rather lower-end part, for this news piece we're going to focus our excitement towards the 55nm RV790 which apparently is set to make its debut as the Radeon HD 4890 on
April 6.
The Radeon HD 4890 series card is said to deliver up to 20% more performance than the Radeon HD 4870 and feature clocks of 850 MHz for the GPU and around 3900 MHz for its 1GB of GDDR5 memory. The card will also feature 'the usual' - a 256-bit memory interface, DirectX 10.1 support, CrossFireX readiness and a passion for taking a bite out of GeForce monsters.
