Aiming to provide extra security on the go, Transcend has collaborated with Trend Micro and developed a new flash drive, that comes with Trend Micro USB Security software pre-loaded. Named JetFlash V15, the drive will be able to scan all the files copied onto it and alert the user of any security threats, be them viruses, malware/spyware and such. Unfortunately, the Trend Micro USB Security version on the drive works as a 90-day trial which probably means people who want to keep this functionality will have to pay up.

"We look forward to deploying Trend Micro's USB Security on our JetFlash V15," said Transcend Vice President Steve Chang. "This is an exciting partnership that ultimately improves the lives of portable storage users by giving them the convenience of storing anything on their JetFlash USB flash drive with confidence that their files are safe from harmful viruses."

Coming in 4 and 8GB capacities (and maybe more), the JetFlash V15 has a glossy casing, a USB 2.0 interface and a capless design thanks to the retractable connector and will be backed by a lifetime warranty. Transcend has not announced the V15's retail release date or pricing scheme.
