Although not challenging the famed Atom with the Yukon platform (which boasts a single-core Neo processor), AMD is set to go after Intel's CULV (consumer ultra-low voltage) with the dual-core-enhanced Congo ultra-portable platform. As Yukon, Congo will make its debut on a HP machine, namely an updated version of the Pavilion dv2, which will likely boast a 1.6GHz dual-core Neo CPU.
The Congo-based 12-inch laptop is expected to be officially revealed on June 10 and will probably have specs similar to those of the 'older' dv2 - 4GB of RAM, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 integrated graphics card, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD writer, Ethernet and WiFi, a webcam, Altec Lansing speakers, and a 6-cell battery. No word on the price tag yet but we should expect something higher than $750.
