NEC Display Solutions has just announced the MultiSync EA231WMi, its first ever 23-inch 16:9 LCD monitor with an IPS panel. Seen below, the upcoming release features a stand that provides 110mm height adjustment and pivot options, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, TCO 5.0 certification, and delivers better viewing angles and image quality than the widely-available TN panel monitors.

The widescreen LCD also comes with built-in speakers, DisplayPort connectivity (and likely D-Sub/DVI), and can double up as a USB hub. According to NEC, the MultiSync EA231WMi is going to hit stores in October and be available in black or silver/white.
