Gigabyte has quietly updated its convertible netbook line-up with a new model, the 10.1-inch TouchNote T1028X. Younger brother of the T1028M, the T1028X weights around 1.48 kg and features an LED-backlit touchscreen with a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, a 1.66 GHz Atom N280 CPU, 1GB of RAM, GMA 950 integrated graphics, and a 160GB hard drive.
The fresh netbook runs Windows XP Home Edition and also packs a 1.3 megapixel camera, a 4-in-1 card reader, 10/100 LAN, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, an ExpressCard slot, and a 6-cell battery.
The T1028X is currently listed in Europe with a price tag of over
620 Euro which puts it in the realm of ultra-portables and full-on notebooks. At this price, the comparison, at least in terms of computing power, is not favorable to Gigabyte's machine.
