
The veil is (finally and) officially off with Vodafone being the first to step up and deliver the BlackBerry Storm2 to European customers. Released in the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain, the new BB measures 112.5 x 62.2 x 14 mm and features a 3.25-inch (480x360) touchscreen, a 3.15 megapixel camera backed by autofocus and an LED flash, 256MB of flash memory, 2GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, GPS and an accelerometer.
The smartphone has quad-band GSM and HSDPA connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, USB, and packs a 1400 mAhr battery providing up to 280 hours of standby time.
The BlackBerry Storm2 can currently be had in the UK for free with a 24-month contract of at least £35 per month and is planned to become available, from Vodafone, in France, Italy and South Africa in time for Christmas.
