CoolIT Systems has revealed that it is working on a new liquid cooling solution, one that is compatible with AMD's Cypress-powered Radeon HD 5870 graphics card. The upcoming factory sealed and maintenance free cooler is set to lower the temperatures of the DX11-supporting card and provide extra overclocking headroom while keeping sound output low.

"Since starting our work with AMD several years ago, one of the challenges has been the fast succession of technology advances," said Geoff Lyon, CEO of CoolIT Systems. "By working hard to develop a solution that can keep up to the pace of technology advancement as well as providing the end user the flexibility to upgrade their cards while keeping the cooling system intact, we feel that this is a winning combination. The solution showcases an ultra reliable, brazed heat exchanger to ensure that it will provide excellent performance for years to come."

CoolIT's Radeon HD 5870 LC system is being shown off for the first time today at the AMD Technical Forum & Exhibition 2009 in Taipei.
