As previously rumored, Intel is has now introduced a new Bloomfield processor to the Core line, the Core i7 960. The fresh LGA 1336 part is made on 45nm technology, has four cores, eight threads, 8MB of L3 cache, a QPI running at 4.8GT/s, and works at 3.20 GHz, the same frequency as the retired Core i7 965 Extreme Edition.

The Core i7 960 is priced at $562, same as the 3.06 GHz Core i7 950 so it's very, very likely that the latter will soon be discontinued.
