PC maker Lenovo has now presented no less than five new ThinkVision LCD monitors, all of which aim to provide a "visual-rich experience" while looking out for this amazing planet that we live on thanks to their green design. The displays in question are the ThinkVision L1711p, L1951p Wide, L2250p Wide, L2251p Wide and L2251x Wide, with an emphasis being put on the last models which is the first PC monitor to be TCO Certified Edge.

The five LCDs are TCO Certified, EPEAT Gold Rated and are over 50% more energy efficient than their predecessors, have a maximum resolution of up to 1680x1050 pixels, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a five millisecond response time, with two models - the L2251x Wide and L2251p Wide, also boasting DisplayPort connectivity.

According to Lenovo, the green flagship that is the ThinkVision L2251x Wide uses only 21 watts of power during operation, less than half that require by similar models, has a mercury-free panel and low halogen components, has chassis parts made of 65% post consumer recycled plastics, it makes use of 90% recycled packaging, and is bundled with a reusable protective bag.

"As the first PC company to achieve TCO Certified Edge for its L2251x Wide monitor, Lenovo leads the industry in a number of areas including reduced electromagnetic emissions and low usage of sensitive materials," said Sören Enholm, president, TCO Development. "Lenovo has gone the extra mile to achieve TCO Display 5.0 certification for all of its new monitors, illustrating a commitment to offering customers more choices for innovative green technology that also delivers on performance, visual quality and ease of use."

Lenovo's ThinkVision L1951p Wide, L2250p Wide and L2251p Wide monitors will ship from October 23 priced at $239.99, $249.99 and $259.99, respectively, with the ThinkVision L1711p set to debut on November 6 @ $229.99. As for the ThinkVision L2251x Wide, it will ship later on in November and cost $299.99.
