Continuing to expand its horizon, Patriot Memory has now announced the Gear Box, a compact device that will turn USB 2.0-connected flash drives into a NAS solution. Coming in black and white, the Gear Box has two USB ports and a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection, and provides FTP, BitTorrent, Print Server and UPnP support.

"The GearBox is the perfect solution for the consumer that is looking for a fully functional NAS device, but cannot afford one of the pricier models," says Jack Chen, Patriot?s Business Development Manager. "GearBox provides convenience and instant accessibility to important files or just to share some family photos, music, or media."

Patriot has yet to mention the Gear Box's price or shipping date so we'll just have to keep an eye out for it.
