First seen a month ago on the launch day of the Radeon HD 5800 series cards, Sapphire's HD 5870 Vapor-X model is finally closing in and should start to reach stores next week. The Cypress-powered card features 1600 Stream Processors, a 256-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR5 memory, DirectX 11 and CrossFireX support, and (of course) a dual-slot Vapor-X cooling system that makes use of vapor chamber technology and is claimed to be both quieter and more efficient than the reference cooler.

Sapphire's creation also boasts the ATI Eyefinity multi-monitor technology, has dual DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs and is factory overclocked, with its GPU and memory being set to 870 MHz (850 MHz stock) and 5000 MHz (4800), respectively.
