Intel has now updated its CPU portfolio to include a new LGA 1366 Xeon quad-core processor, the W3565, which is probably set to retire the W3540 and W3550. The W3565 is clocked at 3.2 GHz, same as the W3570, has 8 threads, 8MB of L3 cache, a 130W TDP and features a 4.80 GT/s QPI (6.40 GT/s for the W3570).

That QPI difference makes for a pretty big price gap as the W3570 goes at $999 while the W3565 costs $562.
