Sapphire Technology has stepped up to the plate trying to hit a home run with its first two Vapor-X-cooled DirectX 11 cards, a Radeon HD 5870 and a HD 5750. Both unofficially unveiled a little while back, the cards make use of 40nm GPUs (Cypress for the 5870, Juniper for the 5750) and GDDR5 memory, boast the ATI Eyefinity multi-monitor technology and have dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, are CrossFireX-ready and are equipped with custom, dual-slot cooling solutions that feature the Vapor Chamber technology, enabling lower temperatures and a quieter operation.
The Vapor-X HD 5870 has 1600 Stream Processors, a 256-bit memory interface, a GPU clock of 870 (850 stock) MHz, and 1GB of GDDR5 VRAM set to 5000 (4800) MHz, while the HD 5750 packs 720 SPs, a 128-bit interface and GPU/memory (1GB GDDR5) frequencies of 710/4640 MHz (up from 700/4600 MHz).
Both cards are bundled with a coupon for the download of the DX11-enabled racing game Dirt 2, and have started shipping today. We found the Vapor-X HD 5870 listed @
