Microsoft's Bing search engine was back to growth last month, with its US market share going up from 8.51% in September, to 8.86%. In the mean time, according to StatCounter's statistics, Yahoo continued its fall and dropped from 9.4% in September to 8.91% in October.
"Bing's market share has stabilised after falling since mid August," commented Aodhan Cullen, CEO, StatCounter. "However, a worrying trend for Microsoft is that the combined Bing and Yahoo! market share has seen a steady decline from 20.36% in July to 17.77% in October."
Yahoo's loss was Google's gain, with the number one search engine managing to go from 80.08% in September to 80.39% last month, this being its largest share since November 2008.
