Toshiba's storage device division has just announced a new series of 1.8-inch hard drives which includes 160GB, 250GB and 320GB models, the latter being the highest-capacity drive in this form factor. The compact spinners have a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a 5400 RPM working speed, 16MB of buffer memory, and consume up to 1.3W while seeking/writing.

Also featuring a maximum sound output of 19dB, the three new 1.8-inch Toshiba hard drives are set to enter mass production next month.
