With Nvidia keeping really quiet about the nForce 700a series chipset although they were expected by the end of this quarter, some partners have begun talking about their products based on the nForce 780a and/or 750a. Zotac was quick to show off an nForce 750a but MSI was not as shy when revealing the K9N2 Diamond (nForce 780a), MSI K9N2 SLI Platinum and the MSI K9N2 Zilent (both nForce 750a).

The nForce Diamond is an AM2/AM2+, Phenom-ready motherboard that comes with triple-SLI support, four DDR2-1066, and an intricate all-copper Circu-Pipe cooling system. Equipped with integrated graphics, the K9N2 Diamond has Hybrid SLI support, six SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors, 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports, all solid capacitors and is bundled with a X-Fi Xtreme Audio card.

The nForce 750a-powered K9N2 SLI Platinum and K9N2 Zilent offer identical features and these are - SLI and Hybrid SLI support, four DDR2-1066 memory slots, 1 Gigabit Ethernet interface, eights SATA ports - 6 internal, 2 eSATA and integrated 7.1 channel audio. The difference between the two boards comes from the bundle, K9N2 Zilent being bundled with a Zalman CPU cooler.

All three motherboards are set to be released in Q2, likely around mid- to late-April.
