The long-deyaled AM2+-ready Nvidia nForce 780a SLI chipset will finally make its debut this quarter and of course, Asus is prepared for the event and has a few products based on it. One board made by the Taiwan-based company is part of the uber-high-end series known as ROG or Republic of Gamers, it's called Crosshair II Formula and has just been announced.
Still catering anything but food, Asus offers the Phenom user a new ROG motherboard that features things like AM2+/AM2 and DDR2-1066 memory support, HyperTransport 3.0 and more.
Equipped with integrated graphics, the Crosshair II has support for Hybrid SLI with HybridPower and GeForce Boost features, three PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots for triple SLI, six SATA 3Gb/s ports, D-Sub and DVI outputs plus two Gigabit Ethernet connectors. The fun doesn't stop here though as the board also boasts a beefy copper heatpipe-featuring cooling system, enhanced, BIOS-level overclocking capabilities and is bundled with a PCIe x1 SupremeFX II audio card.
No word on pricing yet but stay alert as the board should become available in the next few weeks.
