
Unveiled almost two months ago, HP's low-cost 2133 Mini-Note PC has now been officially announced. Targeting the educational PC market, the notebook weights just about 2.6 pounds, has a 8.9-inch LCD screen with a 1280x768 resolution, and is based on a VIA platform.
Starting off at $499, the 2133 Mini-Note, is enclosed in a anodized aluminum shell, comes with either Linux or Windows Vista Business pre-installed, the latter being available only with the $749 configuration that includes a 1.6 GHz CPU, 2GB of DDR2 memory and a 120 GB hard drive.
HP's new notebook will start shipping later this month.
