Catering to the needs of digital content professionals in the broadcast, film/video post-production, animation and graphic arts industries, Hewlett-Packard has announced two new uber-performance-pumping workstations. The new and improved xw8600 and xw9400 workstations are both powered by quad-core processors, the first by up to two Intel Xeon X5482s at 3200 MHz with the latter being equipped with one of three K10 Opteron 2300 series CPU.
The new workstations are all set to be loaded with either Windows XP, Vista or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and can be equipped with Nvidia Quadro cards. No word on prices for the new workstations yet but a good guess should see them over $2000.
