When it
rains with Gigabyte motherboards, it pours so after the glimpse over the GA-EP45-DS3P, the higher-end, and better equipped GA-P45-DS5 has been revealed. Powered by the P45 chipset, the DS5 features a copper-bursting cooling system similar to that found on other bards like the X48(T)-DQ6.
In terms of CPU support, the P45-DS5 can work with 65 and 45nm Intel Core/Celeron processors with FSBs up to 1600 MHz. The board also has four DDR2-1200 memory slots two PCI-Express 2.0 X16 slots that are CrossFire-ready, two Gigabit Ethernet connectors and no less than ten (10) SATA 3.0 Gbps ports. Gigabyte's upcoming motherboard also features 8 USB 2.0 ports, integrated 7.1 channel audio and three buttons to help start up and reset it plus a button to clear the CMOS. Although using a 'mainstream' chip, the GA-P45-DS5 looks a lot like a high-end board so it is something to check out once Intel officially launches the P45. That will happen around the latter half of Q2.
