After the
EP45-DS3P,
the P45-DS5 and
the EP45 Extreme we can now contemplate upon yet another Intel P45-powered motherboard painted in Gigabyte blue. The higher-end P45-DQ6 can be seen below and hopefully you can agree that it's quite special. In addition to featuring support for 45nm CPUs with 1600 MHz FSBs, DDR2-1200 memory, the board is equipped with Dynamic Energy Saver technology, two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots, the orange one likely being x8 electrical while the two slots between them being connected to the quite large switch chip beside them.
Boasting a full-copper cooling system, Gigabyte's GA-P45-DQ6 also features CrossFire support, no less than ten SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors, Power, Reset and Clear CMOS buttons, four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and to top it all off 7.1 channel integrated audio.
Currently there's no "official" release date for the DQ6 or the P45 chipset for that matter but if nothing intervenes then we should be able to buy Gigabyte's board before the end of this month. Until then, let's contemplate.
