Fujitsu has now updated its storage offer with two new series of drivers, both aimed at segment that require 24/7 operation and overall, great reliability. The solutions presented today include the MHZ2 BK and MHZ2 BS series spinners, which are working at 7,200 and 5,400 rpm respectively. All the new drives come in a 2.5-inch form factor, have SATA 3.0 Gbps connection interfaces and consume just 0.13W when in slumber mode.

The 7,200 rpm drives come in 80, 120, 160 and 250GB capacities, feature 16MB of cache, a noise output when idle of 2.5 bels, and consume up to 2.3 W when working in fifth gear. The 5,400 rpm 120 and 250GB models have 8 MB of buffer and a maximum noise output of 2.4 bels. The new RoHS drives will be reaching customers in two waves - the MHZ2 BS units will start being delivered on May 30th while the faster BK drives will arrive at the end of July.
