A week from today Nvidia will introduce its new, G(T)200-powered graphics cards, the GeForce GTX 260 and 280 and while we're expecting them to be quite pricey we still weren't prepared for what was found on an online store.
TDShop.fr now has Asus' GeForce GTX 280 available for pre-order but the price listed beside it is a pocket-choking 575 Euro or about $897. For this kind of money you're be getting the highest-end offer from Santa Clara's Nvidia Corp. which features a 65nm GPU with 240 Stream Processors, a 512-bit memory interface and 1GB of GDDR3 memory. We think it's not worth the 575 Euro but prices should go down a bit as the release date closes in. Don't expect the GTX 280 to go for 300 Euro though.
