Asus, Zotac has also been in a hurry to manufacture factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 280 cards which will be released very close to the official launch date of Nvidia's two GT200 models, this is today. Zotac's GeForce GTX 280 AMP! Edition will make its debut very soon and will bring even more graphics power for those who can afford a $600+ video card.
Surprisingly-enough, the AMP! GTX 280 hasn't broken any overclocking records even though it only has one competitor for now, Asus' GTX 280 TOP model. While Zotac's card does beat Asus' factory-overclocked model when it comes to GPU frequency - 700 MHz as opposed to 670 MHz, the tables turn when looking at the two cards' memory and shader clocks. Zotac reached 1400 MHz and 2300 MHz with the 240 SPs and 1GB GDDR3 memory respectively while Asus managed to literally top 1460 MHz and 2430 MHz. From this comparison Asus seems to have become a lot more serious about its overclocked card line-up but something is telling us you wouldn't be ashamed with the performance of Zotac's GeForce GTX 280 AMP! Edition either.
