While carefully observing the rise in ranks of the 16:9 format, BenQ has decided that a product update is in order and the result has now been unveiled through the announcement of the E900HD/HDA and G900HD/HDA LCD monitors. Featuring 18.5-inch panels, the new displays have a top resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and also boast a 2-lamp design that still emits the bright 300 nits of 4-lamp models but does so while consuming 25% less power.

The stylish glossy black E900HD/HDA and silver, black G900HD/HDA also offer response times of 5 ms, 1000:1 contrast ratios (10000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), VGA and DVI with HDCP connectivity and the Senseye+Photo digital image enhancement engine. While spec wise they are almost identical, the E900HD/HDA and G900HD/HDA LCDs differ in terms of extra features as only the former models come with two built-in 1W speakers each.

Both the Windows Vista Premium certified E900HD and G900HD and the Vista Basic certified E900HDA and G900HDA are set to become available in China, and select countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America later this month.
