If you thought that VIA's ITX form factor couldn't get smaller than the 100x72 mm of the Pico-ITX then be sure to act surprised when the company unveils the result of its latest project. Mobile-ITX is the next step in VIA's miniaturization plan and will see to the release of motherboards that are half the size of Pico-ITX board.
Despite their size, the Mobile-ITX boards will feature support for all of VIA's processors - Eden, C7 and Nano, so at least in terms of processing power, the new platform won't be (too) crippled. Still in the works, Mobile-ITX is expected to arrive either in Q4 2008 or Q1 2009.
